NEEDCSI Conducts Peace Education at Dadin Kowa High School

New Era Educational and Charitable Support Foundation, a Jos, Nigeria-based national nonprofit is partnering with Peace Initiative Network (PIN), on a project titled  “Strengthening Community Resilience and Engaging Relevant Stakeholders in the Prevention of Violence and Recruitment to Extremists Groups in Northern Nigeria”, from January – December 2018.

The overall objective of the project is to strengthen community resilience to violence and recruitment to extremist groups in Northern Nigeria through income generating and peacebuilding activities and increased collaboration of peacebuilding CSOs. Project activities include:

  1. Establishment and support to School-based Peace Education Clubs and Youth Friendly Centers

  2. Livehoods Training of Young People and Women

  3. Stakeholder Mobilization through Community Gatherings and Meetings for Peace

 

 

In line with this, we have started Peace Education Clubs (PECs) in five (5) High Schools in Jos, Plateau State. On Monday and Tuesday, February 20 and 21, 2018, we conducted the first Peace Education Clubs ate ZEEBOK HIGH SCHOOL, KUFANG, Jos and also at DADIN KOWA PRIVATE SCHOOL, Jos, all in Plateau State, Nigeria
